Coach Mentoring

Are you looking to prepare your ACC or PCC accreditation from the ICF while seeking
to consolidate your own coaching style?

As an independent ICF assessor for both ACC and PCC-level accreditations as well as an international coach trainer, a certified mentor and an MCC who has walked many miles in your shoes, I will accompany you towards a successful completion of your ICF mentoring requirements and help you fine-tune your personal coaching style.

While the ICF Core Competencies are fundamental in guaranteeing a degree of professionalism in coaching, I also believe that we bring our own style to our coaching conversations, our own way of being and our own philosophies. Clients are attracted to us because we are who we are and approach things the way we do. Mentoring therefore is not an attempt to box you in any particular style but rather an opportunity to give a professional dimension to your coaching and enhance your particular approach.

Depending on the coach’s level of understanding of the Core Competencies, the very first meeting might include a thorough review of the expected observable behaviors for each of the competencies (called “markers”). Subsequent meetings will often involve listening in to a coaching session that the mentee will have recorded with one of their clients and debriefing that session based on its alignment with the Core Competencies. Alternatively, if several of my mentees are open to it, I may invite them to meet and do a live coaching session followed by a live mentoring debriefing, which is a great way for coaches to test their abilities and makes it easier (especially for newer coaches) to find clients to practice with.

Mentoring meetings last between 1 and 2 hours, depending on the mentee’s needs and availability. They spread over a period of 3 months, which is an ICF requirement. Each mentoring contract includes between 2 to 3 written reports, depending on the mentee’s learning style and desires.
